Meet the staff
Martin Randell, DVM, DACVIM, grew up in Queens and Long Island, NY. He received a BS in biology from Cornell University in 1972, an MA in biology (neurobiology and behavior) from UCLA in 1973 and his DVM degree from the University of Missouri in 1979. He then did an internship in small animal medicine and surgery followed by a residency in internal medicine and neurology at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. After leaving the Animal Medical Center he was the staff internist at County Animal Clinic in Yonkers, NY. He joined Somers Animal Hospital in 1984, soon becoming a partner. Dr. Randell achieved Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 1985. As well as specializing in internal medicine, he has expertise in gastrointestinal endoscopy and ultrasonography. In addition he has interest and experience in the care of pet birds, reptiles and small mammals and is a New York State and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Dr. Randell and his wife, Kathy, have 3 grown children and live with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a small parrot. He enjoys adventure travel, hiking, skiing and photography.
Timothy Walker, DVM, DABVP, received a BA degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1992 and a DVM degree from Ross University in 2001. He spent one year at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, where he finished his clinical training. He then joined the staff of Somers Animal Hospital becoming a partner in 2008. Dr. Walker has achieved specialty board certification by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Canine and Feline practice. He has particular interest in cardiology, oncology, ultrasonography and soft tissue surgery including minimally invasive laparoscopy. Dr. Walker and his wife, who is also a veterinarian, married soon after veterinary school and have a young daughter. They live with their two Labrador Retrievers. He enjoys skiing and bicycling.
Amy Williams, DVM joined Somers Animal Hospital in December 2006. She attended Colgate University where she received her BA degree in 1998 and then received her DVM degree from St. George's University in 2003. She spent one year attending the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri for additional clinical training. Dr. Williams had been working in a veterinary practice in Dutchess County for three years prior to joining our veterinary family. She practices general medicine and surgery. She is an avid equestrian, skier and runner and has a horse, two dogs and two cats.
