Services

Regular Health Examinations: Annual physical exams are important to maintain the health of your pet and to detect problems as early as possible. As our pets age we recommend examinations and laboratory testing twice yearly.

Vaccinations: Routine vaccinations are one of the best ways to protect the health of your pet. We use only well-tested combinations of vaccines to protect against the most serious diseases in our area. Each pet is evaluated for the appropriate vaccinations needed.  After the routine puppy and kitten series of vaccinations and the one year booster shots we recommend alternating vaccines, vaccinating every three years or periodically performing vaccine titers to assess your pet’s immune status and need for vaccine boosters.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services, which include electrocardiography, ultrasonography, echocardiography, gastrointestinal endoscopy and laparoscopy. Laparoscopy utilizes rigid fiberoptic scopes to visualize internal organs in the chest and abdominal cavities and obtain biopsy samples. We offer on-site consultations with a board-certified cardiologist as well as referral to other specialists in dermatology, opthalmology, oncology and neurology when deemed necessary.

Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the ability to perform a wide variety of surgical procedures. We offer conventional surgery as well as laser surgery and electrosurgery for specific procedures. Laparoscopic surgery (also called minimally invasive surgery) is available for select procedures. When necessary we utilize a board-certified surgeon for complicated surgical cases.

Anesthesia: We use various combinations of the safest injectable and inhalant anesthetics. Each protocol is tailored to the individual patient base on their size, age and overall health. Patients are monitored using modern equipment and a trained technician during procedures. All anesthetized patients are maintained on IV fluids as well.

Radiology Services: Our on-site, modern digital radiography equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders and allows us to easily consult with a board certified radiologist as needed via telemedicine.  We can refer you and your pet for advanced imaging studies such as CT Scan and MRI when necessary as well as referral for radiation therapy.

Laboratory: The majority of our laboratory testing is performed by a commercial veterinary laboratory with twice-a-day specimen pickup.  Most results are available within 24 hours. Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for same-day serum chemistry, hematology, cytology, parasite testing and screening for many infectious diseases.

Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, supplements, shampoos, heartworm preventatives and parasite treatments to meet the needs of your pet

Laser Therapy:  Laser therapy is a non-invasive treatment, which helps to heal chronic and acute wounds and manage chronic pain. It works by photobiostimulation. This technique is a deep penetrating light energy that stimulates the release of endorphins and increases circulation to affected areas.

One of the most common conditions we are using laser therapy on is arthritis. A condition that affects a vast majority of our older patients, the laser penetrates the affected joints and works to increase the health and energy at a cellular level.  This provides the patient with pain relief within the tissues, some anti-inflammatory relief and aids to stimulate healing within cells.

Our goal with the addition of laser therapy to manage your pet’s condition is to provide relief of his symptoms, improve range of motion or function, reduce or eliminate medications and achieve a higher quality of life.

Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, digital dental radiography, tooth extractions and oral surgery.  We distinguish ourselves from many animal hospitals in that only our veterinarians perform the oral surgery, including extractions.

Individualized Flea and Tick Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and their particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas and ticks in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance, performance and special medical conditions.

Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression. If necessary we also refer you to behavior specialists (both veterinary and non-veterinary) as necessary.

Emergency Care: Please call our main telephone number for instructions for after-hour emergencies or refer to our Emergency Information.
