Hospital Policies

Appointment Policy

Monday to Friday: 8:30 am-5:30 pm
Saturday: 8:30 am-12:30 pm

We see patients by appointment as this allows us to utilize our time as efficiently as possible and minimizes the amount of time clients have to wait.  Like humans, animals do not synchronize their illnesses with an appointment book and procedures do take longer than planned, so an occasional appointment delay can occur. We make a sincere effort to see every patient on time. If an appointment cannot be kept, please call use to reschedule.

Payment Policy

We believe our fees are fair and reasonable and allow Somers Animal Hospital to maintain our high standards. We encourage you to discuss our fees prior to rendering any services and we will make a good faith estimate of the fees to be incurred. Medical and surgical problems may present unexpected complications or additional diagnoses which may lead to additional fees. We will try to discuss this with you and keep you apprised of additional costs when possible.

Payment may be in the form of cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover and is expected at the time services are rendered. We also offer Care Credit, a service affording clients the option of paying bills over time at no or low interest.

Patient Arrival Policy

For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms.  All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Visiting Your Pet

We have no specific visiting hours so feel free to discuss visitation of a hospitalized pet with your doctor. Each patient is an individual and visiting is not always in your pet's best interest. Visits can be arranged on a case-by-case basis.

Pet Restraint

Please allow our trained assitants to restrain your pet during examinations. This provides for the safety of you, your pet and our staff.
